History of Kibworth Golf Club

Founded in 1904 the original site of Kibworth Golf Club was on Wistow Road. A 9 hole course was created after renting land from a local farmer at the cost of £20 annually, the clubhouse was a disused railway carriage and the Professional was employed at a wage of 14 shillings a week.

The war years created numerous problems for the club but the membership of the day were a determined bunch and due to the land having poor drainage and insufficient space for an 18 hole course a new site was sourced.

In 1960 the club had taken possession of the land on Weir Road at a cost of £8,250, the clubhouse was constructed at a cost of £4500 a new tractor was purchased for £86.
The new limited company was formed and the rest as they say is history!

Today the course has a pleasant, peaceful parkland layout. We are located in a quiet corner of rural Leicestershire and the course will test your game to the full: it's tight - the course is set in 125 acres - tree lined and small greens means your approach play needs to be pretty sharp. You will also need to be aware of the pesky stream which comes into play on eight holes.
Have fun!
